We are delighted to announce the official launch of ThreadChain by ATMF, a pioneering e-platform designed to support the factories and creatives of Leicester by creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.

At a recent board meeting, ATMF confirmed its commitment to backing local manufacturers and designers by developing this new platform. ThreadChain is built to provide factories with new revenue streams while helping creatives bring their visions to life.

What ThreadChain Offers

  • Deadstock Sales – Factories can sell surplus fabrics and stock directly to consumers and independent creatives.
  • Made to Order Services – Designers now have the option to create custom garments, with production handled by local manufacturers.

This soft launch marks an exciting milestone in our mission to revitalise Leicester’s manufacturing sector and strengthen its ties with the creative community.

Industry Voices

Fiona Lambert shared her thoughts following Leicester Made:

“After attending Leicester Made, I’m excited that this could be a turning point for Leicester and UK manufacturing. I visited a great factory on Monday, designed and had this dress sample by Friday, and it could be in production in stock fabrics next week.”

ATMF has also partnered with Fashion-Enter Ltd / FashionCapital to deliver made-to-order production that not only creates jobs but also builds sustainable pathways for manufacturing in the UK.

Leicester Made 2024: A Turning Point

The Leicester Made event welcomed over 1,000 attendees and showcased 63 exhibitors. It signalled a major step forward for quality, ethical garment making in the UK. As a committed federation, ATMF believes ThreadChain will build on this momentum, offering a new way forward for factories and creatives alike, while generating much-needed sales.

Building the Future Together

We recognise that new systems take time to grow, but with innovation, creativity, and collaboration, we believe ThreadChain will open doors for both factories and designers. Our aim is to strengthen networks, increase visibility, and provide new revenue streams to ensure UK manufacturing remains competitive on the global stage.

ATMF would like to extend sincere thanks to all partners, collaborators, and supporters who made this launch possible—including our dedicated team at the Fashion Technology Academy in Leicester.

Together, we are building a future where Leicester’s manufacturing heritage thrives once again.
