Leicester’s thriving fashion community came together on 4 March 2026 for Designer Day, a collaborative drop-in networking session hosted at LCB Depot.
Organised in partnership with Fashion-Enter Ltd and FashionCapital, the event welcomed designers, start-ups, and established brands to connect, share ideas, and explore opportunities within the region’s fashion ecosystem.
Designers travel from across the UK
The event attracted a strong turnout of brands and designers, with many based in Leicester and others travelling from as far as Peterborough and Wales to attend.
Designer Day provided a relaxed environment for attendees to network, exchange contacts, and discuss the resources available to help fashion businesses grow.
Connecting brands with fabric suppliers
A key focus of the session was introducing fashion brands to fabric suppliers and industry specialists. Companies present included Jerseytex Ltd, Kuku’s Fabrics Limited, Fashion Fabrics, and Ryton Crest, represented by Harry from the business.
The opportunity to speak directly with suppliers allowed designers to learn more about sourcing materials locally and building long-term partnerships within the industry.
Supporting start-ups at the Fashion Hub
Attendees also discussed the services available through the Fashion Hub located at Phoenix House in Leicester city centre.
The hub, supported by Fashion-Enter Ltd and FashionCapital, provides guidance, training and support for both emerging designers and established brands looking to expand their operations.
It was particularly encouraging to see new start-ups engaging with the resources available and exploring ways to develop their businesses within the region.
Celebrating local talent
Among the highlights of the event was seeing local designer Millie Fullalove from Blossom Atelier demonstrating her impressive skills on the twin-needle sewing machine, showcasing the talent emerging from Leicester’s creative community.
Strengthening Leicester’s fashion industry
As organisers reflected on the success of the day, it was clear that Leicester’s fashion industry continues to thrive when businesses collaborate and share knowledge.
By bringing together designers, brands, and suppliers, events like Designer Day help strengthen the connections that make Leicester a key hub for fashion manufacturing and innovation in the UK.
With positive feedback from attendees and growing interest from the industry, organisers are already looking forward to hosting the next Designer Day event.
